More in this week's adventure in kicking sugar cravings...

Do you ever finish a meal and feel like you need something a little sweet, perhaps chocolate or a sweetened coffee? You're not alone. Often, if the body hasn't received the balance of macronutrients, micronutrients and minerals it needs from a meal, it will send us a signal to say, 'Hey, keep eating! Maybe that missing nutrient is close by!'. Unfortunately, we can't interpret such a complex request... so we hear 'CHOCOLATE!' instead.

To help balance your body - by giving your tastebuds something new to focus on, your brain cells a little fat to let them know you're not in the middle of a famine, and your blood sugar a little stabilization - consider blending up this delicious after-dinner treat. It's sugar-free and packed with a variety of good-for-you compounds that tell the body the meal is done.

The healthy fats and protein from the almond butter calm and nourish, while the spectrum of nutrients and anti-inflammatory agents in the raw cacao address imbalances and alkalizes the blood. The almond milk's creaminess provides just a touch of semi-sweetness for the palate... all in a convenient sippable drink.

Who needs a packaged dessert when you can have a creamy, balancing, sugar-craving squashing smoothie?
